I walked two miles this morning, 2.25 miles to be exact. It’s the first time I’ve walked two miles or more since I had my brain surgery. I’ve been gradually increasing my walks and able to do more and longer walks. But today I did a loop I used to walk, back before the tumor and surgery. And even though it was hot, it felt great.
I remember struggling to walk to the end of my block, past six houses. Now I can walk multiple blocks and loops through my neighborhood.
It’s hard to be patient but that’s one thing I’ve learned on this journey. It took time to slowly get “back to normal” but I’m getting there.
Doing a walk over two miles today felt normal. And felt great. And showed me the patience paid off. Progress takes time and I’m so grateful for the progress I have made.
