Hi! My name is Erin Cahill-Wetzel and I’m new to the blogging world. I am a mother of five battling triple negative breast cancer. I started using Facebook posts as a therapeutic outlet for the many emotions that I have been dealing with since my cancer diagnosis. Based on the positive responses I received from these posts, I decided to give this whole blogging thing a try.
Sports was and has been a big part of my life and I find sports serve as a great metaphor for life. So I do share a lot of sports related posts, but I hope to share a little bit of everything with you as I enter the blogging world. The biggest thing I want to share is that cancer does not have to be a scary topic we avoid and run from. A cancer diagnosis is a challenge, but I am trying to stay as positive as I can throughout my battle.
On 2/22/22, I welcomed my 5th child into the world, Bryce Xander. When I was 23 weeks pregnant with Bryce, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I was able to safely undergo half of my chemo treatments prior to delivery and resumed chemo two weeks postpartum. I have 10 more weeks of chemotherapy, several months of immunotherapy infusions, and surgeries still ahead, but I’m learning to take it one step at a time.
In addition to Bryce, I have 2 older boys, Chase age 7 and Shane age 6. My girls Reese and Alice are ages 3 and 2. So things are a little crazy every day but I hope to share some of the fun with you throughout my posts.
I hope you will find this blog insightful, inspiring, and interesting. Please bear with me as I begin my blogging journey.
