I believe the small things in life often lead to bigger things. And because of this Chris and I like to remember our “date-a-versary”, the date of our very first date.
Years after college randomly heard from Chris seeing if I wanted to meet up. We decided to meet at Starbucks in Moorestown, somewhat of a halfway point for the two of us. The funny thing about this is that Chris went to two other Starbucks before finding the one I was at…good thing he didn’t give up or view that as a bad omen!
As we talked and caught up I happened to notice no ring on his finger. Interesting and perhaps promising I thought to myself. He must have thought the meeting went well as one of our next “dates” was to a Phillies game. I had a great time and by the end of the game his arm had wrapped around me which I also thought was a good sign.
And so began a string of many Phillies games and many date nights which led to our engagement and marriage. Twelve years and five kids later I’d say that things went pretty well after catching up at Starbucks.
I’m glad I took the chance and I’m glad I was at a comfortable place in my own life that led to our meeting. I am so thankful I decided to meet for that cup of coffee as it turns out it was the best trip to Starbucks I ever made.
