On this day eight years ago I became a mother for the first time when this beautiful boy entered the world. He is a mini-version of his dad (seriously if you see pictures of Chris as a kid it’s hard to tell the difference) but full of competitiveness and a love of sports like his mom.
Chase entered our lives at a time we needed it. Several months before finally getting pregnant I learned my mom’s cancer had returned and I wanted nothing more than to be able to provide her with a grandchild. Fortunately she got to spend nine months with Chase who she just adored.
Looking back in some ways having Chase was the hardest. As a first time mom, I didn’t know what I was doing or what to expect. It felt overwhelming and exhausting. And now I laugh. One kid is a piece of cake, even two is easy. Three starts to get a little hard because you’re outnumbered. Four is a challenge and five is a circus. But I love it and love kids and love being a mom.
I am forever grateful that Chase started my journey as a mom. He’s grown into such an awesome boy. He’s never afraid to try anything and I love his fearless attitude.
He loves sports just like me and always wants to play. He is competitive over everything which is also just like me. He loves Monopoly and wants to challenge anyone to a game at anytime.
He is a math whiz already which is definitely not from my side. He does well in school and adjusts to whatever he faces.
He is a thoughtful and caring kid. He wears his emotions of his sleeve, like both of his parents. And he’s a great big brother to his four younger siblings.
Thank you for forever changing our lives when you came into the world Chase Carter. Keep dreaming big and chasing your goals. There’s no limit to what you can do!
Happy Birthday Chase! We love you!
