I did something today that I have not done in about nine months. Something very simple but when you’ve been through what I have, it’s exciting.
The simple thing I did was use a blow dryer on my hair. That’s right. My hair is actually thick enough and long enough to blow dry. It only took 30 seconds or a minute to dry, but the fact that I had to pull the dryer out of the hall closet for the first time in months was exciting.
I still don’t have the hair that I used to and I know I won’t have long hair for awhile but I am just grateful I have hair in. I actually am enjoying this shorter hair as it’s so easy to take care of.
As I’ve learned throughout this cancer journey, it’s about the small steps or victories. Today I celebrated a small step. It may seem silly, but I’ve never been so excited to blow dry my hair!
