This time last year my hair was falling out. This year thankfully my hair is coming in nicely. And a bit wildly too!
It’s been interesting to see how my hair has grown back. I have not done much to it, I just let it come in and see what it does.
As my hair continues to grow I thought of a funny comparison. I’m like a chia pet. I have no idea what to expect but I wait to see what grows much like we would do with those silly chia pets that I’m pretty sure we all had at least once in our lives!
And guess what, these chia pets are still around. Walmart had quite the selection ranging from Minions and Jack Skellington to Willie Nelson and Bob Ross. While tempting to pick one up with the after Christmas clearance I decided I’m busy enough with my hair and seeing what happens as it grows.
As hard as the hair loss was with chemo, it was just temporary. I’ve never had my hair this short and it’s been somewhat fun to see how I look with the new style. My hair has also come in curly which is another change and doesn’t look too bad.
While I miss my messy buns and ponytails, I’m enjoying my messy head of curls and short hair. And I’m grateful for having hair again and excited to be able to blow dry my hair once again!
