Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the little things. The things we catch every so often that remind us that life is good and beautiful.
Seeing the sunset at the end of the day today brought me such a calm and happy feeling after a very crazy and hectic week.
The semester started this week. The online course I was teaching had an old in person shell not a current online shell so I had to answer daily emails from confused students until I finally got things fixed today. My online winter class ended Tuesday and I submitted those grades today.
We had a new sitter start this week and have another one starting next week to help with the gaps we have in coverage. We have our cancer night coming up at a men’s basketball game. There’s been zoom meetings, a doctor’s appointment with an hour wait, a concert at Chase’s school and so much running around and juggling this week that I couldn’t wait for Friday to come.
To have a picture perfect sky at the end of a very busy week reminded me to slow down and relax and it will all be ok.
I spent close to an hour playing basketball with Chase and Shane literally until the sun went down. I was frozen through afterwards but it was so relaxing to just be outside and not focus on anything but my boys and basketball.
Catching the beautiful sky just added to the moment and made for a peaceful end to this crazy week. I realized I can never get too busy to miss out on the little things in life that can bring so much joy like a beautiful sunset. I also realized I can never be too busy to spend some time with my kids who also make each day special.
I spent so much time running around and feeling overwhelmed this week that I forgot to slow down and focus on what really matters. My kids, a little fresh air and a beautiful sunset reminded me to never overlook the things right in front of me that can make me happy. The simple things in life are sometimes the best things if we just take the time to appreciate them.
