I hate being sick. I’m always on the move and busy so taking it easy is
not so easy especially with five young kids.
After ending up in the hospital with a fever last April I’ve learned to really listen to my body. If something isn’t right I need to get it checked out.
Last night I had a fever of 102.5. It was 101 when I woke up. I’m no longer undergoing chemo or immunotherapy but I’m not sure what my threshold is in terms of a fever and illness.
I was able to get in to see my oncologist today and I have a bacterial infection. I’m hoping the antibiotics work quickly because I can’t afford to be out long.
I literally laid in bed all day. I hate being this lazy but I was so tired and uncomfortable it’s what my body needed.
I’m glad I didn’t try to tough this out and just hope it gets better quickly. I contacted my doctor and it’s a good thing I did since I had a bacterial infection.
This is one big takeaway I want people to know related to my cancer battle. If something doesn’t fill right or look right get it checked out right away. Thankfully I spoke up when I felt a lump in my breast and was able to start chemo and treatment quickly.
With a high fever last night and still having one this morning I called my oncologist just to be safe. Thankfully I did since I did have a bacterial infection.
Listen to your body and don’t tough things out. It’s always better safe than sorry.
