It’s hard being unable to do much but I keep focusing on making the most of what I am able to do and on getting stronger and more capable each day.
Yesterday I was able to walk down the end of my block for the first time. And I did it again later in the day! I was able to go down to our “basement” which has double the steps of our top floor with the help of the occupational therapist (ot). I was able to do most of a shower on my own without the help of the ot.
I also had physical therapy and did squats and various exercises with bands. It was a lot for my legs but felt great to do.
These small steps will allow me to do more and more. I need to continue to focus on the progress. Tomorrow will be three weeks since my brain surgery and I feel so much stronger and steadier on my feet and moving around. One step at a time, one day at a time and keep moving forward.
