Throughout this whole cancer battle I have been so touched and blown away by the generosity and thoughtfulness of people. It made me realize how grateful I am for the people I’ve got to know over the years.
Sports has always been a big part of my life and has allowed me to meet many people. School of course is another connection as well as jobs I’ve had over the years.
Forming relationships is so important. It’s how we make friends, meet partners, grow our family. When we marry we inherit a new family which is one of many fun things about marriages.
There’s always the well we are just “Facebook friends” but you connected with each other somehow. As your kids go to school and get involved in activities you begin to meet even more people. Even if it’s just a brief meeting or a few encounters, a connection is made.
Yes there is a difference between “Facebook friends” and your true friends. But what we do allows us to meet people and form relationships. These relationships support us, help us, especially in a time of need as I have found out.
That is why it is important to form relationships with friends, with families, with coworkers, with classmates, with teammates. People are what keep us going. And it all starts from the connections we are able to make.
